Quakertown Slow Pitch League Final Standings
PLAYOFFS - Teams seeded by overall record.
Randy Bochniak hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning of game-7 to give Alpine International an 18-17 victory over Cannon Roofing in the Quakertown Slow Pitch League Championship Series. This was a hard fought series if there ever was one. Cannon won game-1; 28-5, game-3; 19-7 and game-5; 20-8. Alpine won game-2; 26-25, game-4; 18-17 and game-6; 37-21. Key players for Alpine include pitcher Scott Ludlow, outfielder Terry Keller and first basemen Doug Shaw. This was the fourth straight year that these two teams have met in the finals. Alpine, then Souder & Souder won the title over Cannon 1998, Cannon had been the two time defending champion, defeating Souder & Souder both in 1999 and 2000. This was also Cannon's fifth straight year in the finals, they first entered the league in 1997 and won their first title over C&C Ford. They defeated Souder & Souder in the semi-finals that year.

Beef n Ale/Tavern to capture the Main Line Association Softball Championship. The Dot Com's were led by final series MVP Bob

Manager John Bojazi and his J&J Paining squad captured their first Plymouth Cup Championship by sweeping Montgomery Brothers 2 games to 0 in the finals. Montgomery Brothers was the "B" division champ and advanced to the finals by defeating "C" division champion JayDor. J&J, the "A" champs were led by pitcher Ron Rinker who masters the unlimited arc like no other. The big hitters for J&J were Steve Kalbach, Mike Sobeck and Bill Bradford. Others contributing were John Priotto, George Garvey, Scott nealman, Carl Rost, James Cervone, AJ Neve, pat McCloskey, Mike D'Angelo, Sergio Salv, Ron Keaser and Wayne Masters. The Young Guns defeated Haggerty's Café, 10-9 and 20-10 to sweep the championship series. Pitcher Brad Lindeman was 3-for-3 and Mike Lafferty had two hits and two RBIs in the first game. John Dormer also had two hits and Mike Berry chipped in with a home run. In the second game, Steve Leviere went 5-for-5 to help Lindeman earn another decision. Larry McFadden and Scott Olsen had four hits and Jim Broadbelt and Jim Eckels both contributed three hits to the Young Guns' attack. Millennium Cup Tournament Championship: In a separate event, Manoa Tavern won the Millennium Cup Tournament Championship by defeating Tom n Jerry's Bombers in the finals. Manager Chip Gabrill and his DRK teammates once again are the Phoenixville YMCA softball champs. This team, formerly GE Star, then Martin Marietta, then Lockheed Martin and finally now DRK/Lockheed have been in the "Y" finals seven of the last nine years and have been victorious now the third time. Pitcher John Baldassari, shortstop Keith Swope and left fielder Steve Young have been around since the 1993 team first appeared in the finals. These are a great group of guys who never give up. Manager Chris "Opie" Hendricks led the Hitmen to their second Bridgeport title in three years. Hendricks masterminded the line-up changes to include a mix of old and young to his advantage as The Hitmen won the final championship game against last year's champion The Franchise. The offense was led by John Cresswell (4 hits, 6 RBIs), Sammy Rosen (4 hits, 4 RBIs), Bryan Kaufman (3 hits), Steve Dimitry (3 hits), Brian Dunlap (3 hits), Mike Kaufman (3 hits), Rob Himes (3 hits) and Woody Smith. The tough defense was anchored by Gus Baldassano, Matt Michaels and Harry "the rabbit" Reece. Other members of the Hitmen include Matt Strzeminski, Kenny Priest, Joe "G" Garoake, Lou Fiorentino, Tom Coughlin and Rich Mack. Congrats to the Franchise on a great season. Jake Corropolese, Chris Sullivan, Mickey Marsilio, Chris Logan and the rest of the team suffered only 4 losses all year, all coming at the hands of the Hitmen. PLAYOFFS - Teams seeded by record. Trappe Tavern Gold and manager Mike Brinkman won the Collegeville Softball Association championship by sweeping Thom Eisenberger's Country Moon/Trappe Black team three games to none. They won by the scores of 14-11, 10-9 and 14-4. Trappe Gold was led in the series by the all around play of Steve Moloney. Manager Jack Mullin and Tom n Jerry's/Barnaby's won the Marcus Hook League Final Series three games to one with an 18-4 win over Willowbrook Pub in the deciding game at Marcus Hook. Tom McLaughlin led Tom n Jerry's as he was the winning pitcher, collected four hits and was named Series MVP. Manager Ernie Chintalan and coach Sonny Termine won their sixth straight East Norriton Championship as TNT Sports Club defeated Griffen, Endris and Associates in a tough three game series 2 games to 1. Griffin managed by Scott Nealman won the first game 19-17 as Steve Kalbach, Harry Singleton and Tony Boffa all collected 4 hits apiece. TNT's Tony Carfagno was 5 for 5 in a losing effort. TNT came back in the second game to register a 17-1 decision as Mike Fiorentino pitched and went 3 for 4 with a home run. Mike Collozo chipped in with 4 hits for the winners. In the deciding game, TNT clinched the title with a 15-11 victory as Andy Gelet went 4 for 4 and Chris Molitor hit 2 home runs. John Cresswell and Tony Boffa both collected 3 hits in a losing effort. For the series, Tony Carfagno was named MVP and went 11-13 to lead TNT. Mike Collozo was 10-13, Joe Decicco and Andy Gelet were both 8-12. Tony Boffa led Griffen with a 8 for 9 performance. Dave DiTrolio drove in six runs in the opener and went 4-for-4 in the second game as Peabody's swept Tom n Jerry's, 15-2 and 9-4, to win the first Millennium Sunday Coed League championship. DiTrolio belted two home runs in Game One to stake Joan Mauer to the first of her two wins. Mauer held Tom n Jerry's to six hits while Sherri Festa was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. PLAYOFFS - Teams seeded by record within their division.
Manager Don Douglass and pitcher Steve McAvoy led the Maennerchor Club to 12-9 victory over Direnzo's Tavern to win its first West Norriton Coed League title. Direnzo's came from a 8-2 deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the eighth, Steve Dimitry's two run single scoring Roger Kummerer and Brian Fields gave Maennerchor a 10-8 lead before Douglass blasted a two run homer to extend the lead to 12-8. The lead held up in the bottom of the eighth as Direnzo's managed only to score a run. The defense was led by Eric Walker, Doug Bondi, Mike McAvoy, Natalie Steele, Cindy Rhoadarmer, Joy Valerio and Brenda Graham. Other team members include Mike Kaufman, Woody Smith, Allison McGrann, David Douglass, Carol Donahue, Brandon Donahue and Chris Smail. Douglass and McAvoy put this team together back in 1995 and after many years of frustrating semi-final losses, finally win the prize. "Rec" East Division Playoffs (single elimination):
